It has been quite a year for me... opening my eyes to more of an insight into God's Love. I have always been a believer, but have grown to know Him on a more personal level. I hope to learn and grow and provide personal ministry while hoping my life, which is not perfect in any means can be helpful to others as they journey on their path...

Loosing the battle does not mean loosing the war

Luke 22:31-33 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. 33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

I hope your catching what was said here... (I'm sorta borrowing this lesson but putting my own twist on it making it more personal. I told you before that what I study throughout the day will effect my blogs, so thank you Charles Stanley.) So as I was saying. If you are reading what I am reading Jesus is telling him that Satan expressed a set intreast in testing Simon (Peter)... now we discussed before about how Job was tested. There was a whole conversation between God and the devil over Job. Is this situation not unlike that?

I am reminded once of knowing. Knowing that I had lost a battle with the devil. In fact I called my friend and told her that I had just had a battle with the devil and lost... I knew it in my gut the very moment it happened.

My thought is... we may loose battles. Jesus knew Simon would loose that one... but told him to come back strong and strengthen his brethren.  Sometimes we loose the battle... if we are smart we learn from those mistakes... we learn from the disappointment in ourselves and we come back fighting even harder.

We will loose battles... it's the war that must be one.

  1. Hmmm...someone I know has had many trials and tribulations in her life and is now strong and strengthening her brethren. "...He moves in mysterious wa-ha-ha-hays."
