Genesis 13:10-11 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.
Notice it says before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. In the Jordon Plains is the Dead Sea which is 8.6 times saltier that the ocean and the salt makes it very tough conditions for plant life or animal life to thrive.
Lot was drawn to this land because it was the best land there was to choose from. He choose the land that was good for him... for his animals, for his wealth it was a nicer easier way of living.
We know the story Lot was in Sodom and Gommorah where sin was everywhere and overtook Lot and his family... the cities were destroyed by God who consumed with fire. Lot's wife turned to look back after God told them not too and she turned into salt. Into what? That is correct.
After reading this passage I am led to believe that the ground before this happened was fertile. But the other lesson here... one that I also need to realize especially in my circumstances and the responsabilty in my life to be a strong and Godly influence in my childrens life no matter how difficult they can make it. The prettier pastures can lead to ruin. Abram aka Abraham was not perfect just as I claim I also am not and years ago I made the choice to take the rocky land. I need to remember I too can be blessed... and even maybe, just maybe, my children also.

My grandma, pictured here with me while she was still alive, is the most Godly woman I have ever known. Always has been my inspiration and embodyment of who I want to be... in that light I want to share my steps to becoming closer to my God the Father and Savior. I am in no way shape or form perfect as you will come to know... this is a growth process. In God's Love... Heather Weatherman
It has been quite a year for me... opening my eyes to more of an insight into God's Love. I have always been a believer, but have grown to know Him on a more personal level. I hope to learn and grow and provide personal ministry while hoping my life, which is not perfect in any means can be helpful to others as they journey on their path...
